The monthly Ealing Mile is back this Friday at 12:30 in Lammas Park, continuing a popular tradition run by the organisers of the Ealing Half Marathon. Registration for the August edition closes this Thursday at 10:00 – there will be absolutely no entries taken on the day, so anyone intending to take part must complete the online process before the cut-off.

The course itself is a carefully measured one mile (1.6 km) set entirely within the park, making it traffic-free and suitable for a wide range of participants. Official timing is provided and results are recorded in a way that allows them to appear in national ranking systems. The event is deliberately open to people of all abilities: runners, joggers and walkers aged four and above are welcome. Many regulars treat it as a convenient lunchtime session that fits around work or family commitments, while others use it as part of their build-up to the main Ealing Half Marathon, which is scheduled for 27 September.

Lammas Park remains one of the most attractive and accessible green spaces in the borough, with good links from South Ealing and Northfields stations. The organisers consistently emphasise the friendly, community-oriented atmosphere that has become associated with their events – often summarised under the hashtag #EalingFeeling. Because numbers are limited and the registration window is short, those who want to secure a place are being strongly encouraged to sign up as soon as possible. For many local people this short, well-organised mile has become a regular fixture in the summer calendar and a simple way to stay active in a pleasant outdoor setting.
