Ealing Polish Saturday school awarded 108,000 zł funding from Poland for 2026
The Tadeusz Kosciuszko Polish School in Ealing has secured 108,000 zł in Polish state support for 2026. The grant will help cover core running costs so classes can continue without sharp fee rises. The school, founded in 1950, is among the oldest Polish Saturday schools in England.
The Polish Saturday School of Native Subjects in Ealing, also known as the Tadeusz Kosciuszko Polish School in Ealing, has received 108,000 zł in funding for 2026.
The agreement, dated 13 July 2026, was made through the Wspólnota Polska association. The money comes from the Institute for the Development of the Polish Language, drawn from the state budget under the “Polish Education Abroad – support for Polish schools overseas” competition.
The total value of the project is 118,800 zł. The grant is intended to cover basic operating costs, including room hire, teachers’ pay, insurance and other running expenses. Organisers say the support should help keep lessons going without a sharp rise in fees.
The school has operated since 1950 and is one of the oldest Polish Saturday schools in England. It teaches Polish language, history, geography, religion and singing, and prepares pupils for GCSE and A-Level Polish exams. It is run by parent volunteers and is described as the only Polish diaspora school in the United Kingdom to have received the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service.
Classes are held at School House, St Gregory’s RC Primary School, Woodfield Road, London, near Ealing Broadway and Pitshanger. Enrolment details are available via the school’s website at szkola.org/zapisy.
For many families in Ealing, Saturday school offers regular contact with Polish beyond the home, alongside peers, traditions and community life. Parents are also reminded about enrolment timing and parish preparation for First Communion and Confirmation.
