Four fire engines and about 25 firefighters attended a house fire on Shackleton Road in Southall after emergency calls in the early hours.
According to London Fire Brigade, the front door of the end-of-terrace property was damaged by fire and smoke affected the rest of the home. Eight adults were rescued by crews wearing breathing apparatus.
Brigade control staff took the first of four 999 calls at 01:41 and sent appliances from Southall, Ealing and Hillingdon fire stations. The incident was brought under control by 02:23.
The Brigade’s fire investigation team is examining how the fire started, working with the Metropolitan Police. No further details on the cause have been released.
Shackleton Road lies within Southall in the London Borough of Ealing. Early-morning residential fires of this kind often prompt local concern about escape routes, smoke alarms and night-time response times. Residents are reminded that official advice on home fire safety is available from the Brigade, though investigators have not linked this incident to any specific safety failing.
Further updates will depend on the joint investigation. Anyone with information is normally directed to police or the fire service through official channels rather than social media speculation.
