There is now a quiet cabin behind the gates on Ealing Broadway. Until October 2.

From September 4, just behind the ticket gates, there is an acoustic "calm space". The trial lasts until Friday, October 2. TfL will then decide whether such places should appear at other stations.Ealing Broadway at 8am is not a place for anyone to relax. Voices, suitcases, Central Line, District, Elizabeth, buses outside. For some people it's just a station. For some - too much sound at once.

That's why TfL, together with NOOK and the Autistica organization, put a cabin here. The walls muffle noise. Calm colors, forest motif, fixed bench. A stroller, a stroller and an assistance dog will enter. The entrance is level with the floor, without a step.

Why this particular station? Because it's at ground level. It was easier to find a place. And because the staff sees the cabin all day long - they stand close to the gates, not in some corridor at the end of the world.

This is not a therapy room and no one promises silence like in church. That's a minute or five to catch your breath before you go to the platform. Or before you go to The Broadway with a child who can no longer stand the crowds.

TfL is collecting opinions until October 2: QR code on the cabin, survey, comments from station staff. Autistica also asks a panel of people who drive with hypersensitivity to stimuli on a daily basis. This will determine whether similar places will appear underground - where the noise is worse than on Broadway.

The second such cabin is to be erected in the London Transport Museum in Covent Garden in the fall. This is a separate test.

If you travel to this station with a child, someone in a wheelchair, or you just know that the crowd is exhausting you - it's worth visiting while it's still standing. And it's worth leaving a review. Otherwise, the decision will be made without you.
