Southall shop caught with illicit cigarettes – sniffer dogs uncover hidden stock

In March 2026 officers from Ealing Council and the Metropolitan Police carried out a raid at Sethi Food and Wine on Featherstone Road in Southall. Sniffer dogs indicated hidden items in the rear stock room. They found 3,420 illicit cigarettes and 1.13 kg of Indian tobacco concealed in a cardboard box and a black bag.

Racist graffiti and swastikas appear on Gurnell Leisure Centre building site in Perivale

In early June 2026 racist graffiti and at least five swastikas appeared on the green hoardings surrounding the Gurnell Leisure Centre building site in Perivale. The markings included offensive slogans directed at different groups. Ealing Council strongly condemned the act and said the hoardings would be cleaned immediately.

Four Men Stabbed in Covent Garden – Isolated Incident, Police Say

On Wednesday 5 August 2026 around 12:27 a 47-year-old woman allegedly attacked four men with a pair of scissors on Endell Street in Covent Garden. The victims, aged 34, 39, 42 and 52, were taken to hospital. Two were later discharged; the other two remained in hospital with injuries not thought to be life-threatening.

Police seize illegally modified e-bike in Acton after rider allegedly ran red light

On Tuesday 4 August 2026 neighbourhood officers from the Acton team spotted a rider on Uxbridge Road near Twyford Gardens who allegedly ignored a red light at a pedestrian crossing.
